Por qué quieren ir a la República Dominicana?

We've raised nearly $42,000 for our trip! This means that we only need $13,000 more to go.

Here, some Phillip O. Berry students explain, in their own words, why they want to serve in the Dominican Republic:

Los panaderos fantásticos!

Here are some pictures of last week's bake sale, which, in spite of the absolutely BRUTAL wind, was a complete success! Our kind (and generous) customers helped us raise $425—approximately one-third of the price of one student's trip.
Here's Señora Procuniar with Brittany, Brandon, Brianna, and Sedarion. Our awesome students braved the cold and made delicious desserts—especially Sedarion's marshmellow-filled vanilla cupcakes...yum! Thanks to the photographer and granola-maker extraordinaire, Señorita McGowen, for snapping this picture.

A closer look at some of our delicious products!
Our bake sales have been so successful that we will be having two more in the next six weeks. Mark your calendars! We will be outside of the Caribou on Park and Woodlawn on March 17th and March 24th from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Please come and join us!

Ven a Caribou Coffee mañana!

We are hosting yet ANOTHER bake sale tomorrow, February 11th, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. For all of those Charlotteans who want some delicious, Valentine's-inspired treats (and who want to contribute to a great cause!) join us at the Caribou Coffee on Park and Woodlawn.

Don't want you to salivate on your keyboard, but there will be homemade granola, oatmeal fudge bars, brownies, cherry-chocolate scones, cupcakes, and more.

Can't wait to see you tomorrow!

Xoxo,
Señora Procuniar

Gracias, BlackFinn!

Last Saturday, we had a fundraising event at BlackFinn in Uptown. It was such an amazing event! By selling wristbands for drink specials and raffle tickets, we raised $1600 for our trip!
Señora Procuniar, Señor Pierce, Señor Boaz, and Señorita McGowen at BlackFinn
We are all smiles with the turn-out of the event!

The raffle tickets we sold were for a 50-50 raffle, meaning that whoever won the raffle would win half of our proceeds from ticket sales. The man who won, a teacher at James Martin, gave us the money back. It was such a beautiful reminder to us of the generosity and kindness of people.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us! This fundraiser has brought our grand total of funds for the trip to about $19,000. We are one step closer to making our dream a reality. GRACIAS!
